For long I have been thinking what to pen down into my blog. So much isnt happening around that I’m not getting a perfect topic to write down. From the day I have joined the BiG company, the first impression I got was, BiG place, bade log (big people in hindi), badi baatein(big talks in hindi). I sometimes feel very small infront of all. I have turned slight introvert here, and i feel it is someway good for me to keep myself away from unnecessary problems. For eg., In my earlier company, we started a tradition of celebrating everybody’s birthday in the team. Some lighter moment to celebrate out of the tight schedules and boring office environment. It so turned ways, that I was the only one left who had to collect contri, arrange names and cakes and then pull everybody to the cafeteria.
It so happened once, that we were celebrating Mr.N’s birthday and his team member had brought a nice big music candle for him. We were all singing the song when we saw people running down the stairs from the glass door and everyone looking at us with the look..(What are they doing here??) And so it happened a group of security guards came parading towards us and said, fire alarrrrrrrmmmmmm… we couldnt hear the noise because of the huge noise we were making and the fumes. Finally we all had a hearty laugh over it and people staring back at us with the same look.
So it so happened that the tradition continued and i came to be known as the organiser… sick!! I mean… I like making people feel happy as its’ their birthday but for that reason the team started taking me for granted as an event coordinator and i started getting noticed as that. Finally at this place I have made this strong decision not to get noticed for wrong reasons , but for my work alone. ofcourse fun should always be there at work, but i have grown enough to leave the fun behind and some serious work!!
Wait.. am i getting.. older… Are these sings of my old age….
